Kyla Jenkins is an Art Educator and Photographer/Artist. She graduated from Longwood University with a Bachelors in Fine Arts, Concentration in Graphic Design and her Pre-K through 12 Virginia Teachers license. She has been teaching High School Art & Photography in Loudoun County VA for 17 years. Kyla joined the Firehouse Gallery in 2021 and has been serving as Secretary of the Board for 3 years.
As a photographer, she focuses on small details, wide open apertures, and in-camera special effects/ filters, to return to true, hands-on photography, rather than relying on Photoshop and AI. She still practices and teaches traditional black and white darkroom techniques as well.
