After a career in public service, Sue focused on her lifelong interest in art. She is a working artist, and is an active, exhibiting member of five regional art groups: Valley Art Association, since 2007 (Hagerstown, MD); Berkeley Arts Council, since 2012 (Martinsburg, WV); Firehouse Gallery, since 2011 (Charles Town, WV); the Potomac River Artists’ Guild, since 2010 (WV); and has been on the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) Washington County (Hagerstown, MD) (2015-2024). She studied extensively with notable artists including watercolor with Irene Sylvester (Montpelier Arts Center) and Fritz Briggs (instructor, Schuler School of Fine Arts); and oil painting with Michael Davis (independent artist, graduate of the Schuler School) and David Buckley Good (instructor, Schuler School). Her work has been in juried exhibitions at the MFA, the Delaplaine Art Center (Frederick) and “Art at the Mill” Millwood, VA), and is in many private collections.
