After many years of studying and practicing Landscape Design for people’s gardens, I have now undertaken the serious study of capturing my impressions of our surrounding country landscapes here in West Virginia using Water Color and Pastels. As more and more development with their close-mowed lawns and paved surfaces overtake our farms and wild spaces, I have felt the urge to record what remains of the best of our open spaces. In some small way, my efforts might help folks appreciate what is still around them, encourage them to restore what they can, and leave some areas of nature untouched.
